After spending a few years in the retail industry, I soon realized I'm in the wrong profession.  It is safe to say that food literally changed my life, and I quickly found my passion for cooking and baking when I witnessed the hustle and bustle of the foodie life as I jumped head first into the family Cake Shop, in the East Rand of Johannesburg.

 

 

Here, in my early days, I started with recipe development and menu design for catering and home cooked meal options at our little shop of sweet heaven.  

 

 

However, once I picked up a camera, the rest is history as they say. I instantly fell in love with food photography and food styling - as these two components were the fundamentals that aninas-recipes.com was based on.  I started my recipe website in 2012 and realized that this was what I was meant to do.

 

 

After selling the Cake Shop, I started doing corporate catering as Aninas Kitchen, and expanded to include Aninas Frozen Meals, serving the corporates of Joburg my favorite combinations made with love.

 

 

As time went on, the website started growing at a rapid pace and soon I was blogging full time - creating delicious recipes for brand campaigns and soon after I started working on Food Styling projects as well. Creativity takes courage...and hard work.

 

 

This part of the creative process got me hooked, and now, with over 400 recipes, aninas-recipes.com can be seen as a recipe portal with loads of easy, home cooked meals - hoping to share my inspiration with all of the world.

 

It literally portrays my personal food journey through the years from starting out with comforting South African recipes to low carb, banting, meaty, vegetarian and plant-based vegan recipes. This journey made me a more conscious consumer, curious about where my food is from and installing a whole food and balanced approach to food...and life!

 

 

Today, my repertoire not only includes recipe development, styling and photography but I Freelance as a Food Content Specialist for the last three years, to help get your foodie empire noticed online with a complete Content Marketing Strategy that includes everything you will need to build a solid portfolio.
